I came to the world of racing aged 13, late compared to my competitors. After a year of ‘Dad and Lad’ testing, it became clear that, to grow as a driver, I had to join a team. Project One Racing was the obvious choice for me and 2019 saw my first entry into the British Championships.
For a first year at a national level, I posted some promising results. This gave me confidence and a good chance for the 2020 championships.
Unfortunately, 2020 was a short season due to Covid. I looked strong at the start of the season, picking up some decent results, despite the first two tracks on the calendar being entirely new to me.
However, my season fell apart on the third of the four rounds, when I was told to isolate by my school. Unfortunately, despite negative tests and fighting for a chance to compete, I was not allowed and my season came to an end. I no longer stood any chance of a commendable position in the championship as one round missed was 25 percent of the whole season's points. This, in effect, spelt the end of my karting career.
In the meantime, I have further developed my sim-racing career, where I regularly race against both real-life and sim-racing professionals.
However, nothing can replace the feeling of real-life racing. So, since I turned 17 a few months ago, I have turned my attention to track-days and working on my new Toyota GR Yaris Project Car, which I am fortunate enough to own.
I’ve also just bought a rather unexpected race car for the 2023 season. It’s a 1964 Hillman Imp and I’m currently prepping it for a season of classic car racing!
I’m currently working on the car and directing my skills towards car and driver development, coaching and creating. Stay tuned to the YouTube channel to keep up to date.
ABOUT ME
In October 2019, I was lucky enough to test a Formula 4 car around Snetterton. As many may know, this is a very competitive single-seater class for those wishing to progress their careers towards the pinnacle of racing, Formula 1.
It was a steep learning curve as this was my first time in a car of any kind. Although the principles are the same as karting, the techniques and driving style differed hugely due to the addition of downforce and a suspension. Along with an entirely new track, this experience far surpassed my expectations and was the most exhilarating day I've ever had.
Even more encouraging was that I was just 2 seconds a lap off of Formula 4 championship drivers on my first ever day in a car.
